5+DESIGN is a 65-person international design firm offering services in architecture, urban design, planning and interiors. Founded in 2005 with offices in Hollywood and Hong Kong, we are committed to forging a greater connection between the built environment and quality of life, and creating thoughtful and responsible architecture which is tied to a true story of place. Focused on the creation of unique and compelling retail and mixed-use destinations worldwide, the cohesive sensibility of our practice is expressed in a customer-centric approach, an emphasis on communication and teamwork, and a dynamic, positive office culture.

Sharing a common philosophy of creating thoughtful and responsible architecture, each partner brings to the practice an individual breadth of diversity, creativity, and strength with a shared focus on quality-driven design solutions. Working side by side for over two decades, collectively they have been integral in the design and management of millions of square feet of innovative and award-winning projects spanning five continents.

Arthur Benedetti
An intuitive designer, Arthur believes in the power of collaboration in evolving the best solutions for a project. Because of the scale of 5+DESIGN's projects, he understands that they will be a catalyst for other development and must connect to the larger issues of the community. The cultural, socio-political or historic contexts shape his designs as he creates modern urban fabric in environments as diverse as the waterfront in Abu Dhabi and exurban Paris. Arthur brings 25 years of experience in the design of retail, mixed-use, hospitality and corporate attractions. His multi-faceted design approach has been integral in the creation of signature designs for several of the world's highest profile clients including resort magnate Steve Wynn, Japan's media and advertising giant Dentsu, The Coca-Cola Company, Microsoft and Ferrari - projects that have set new standards for their respective industries.

Michael Ellis
With over 20 years of project management and design leadership experience, Michael brings a broad perspective to the design and development process. Working alongside clients, principal designers and consultant teams, he has overseen and managed projects in the US, Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East. Michael is committed to raising awareness of the value that the firm's innovative and collaborative practice can bring to clients and projects. Working closely with clients around the world, he understands the changing landscape of global development and is actively designing an approach to meet the demands of a new generation of mixed-use projects.

Stan Hathaway
Stan brings 25 years of experience on both sides of the design and development table to his work as manager. He believes that great environments are built on relationships as much as on design. Leading by example, he is committed to creating an exceptional team for the clients, the projects, and for the firm. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm and overseeing the success of each project, he also leads in defining the firm's strategies and implementation for growth.

Tim Magill
Tim understands that the most engaging destinations create a dynamic interaction - between the natural and built environment, between the past and the present, between each city and its global competitor. His tools are his knowledge and appreciation of architectural history and his gift for translating the special qualities of a specific place into an engaging and accessible built language. With his pioneering approach, he has designed projects around the world for over 25 years. His work is notably successful in creating economic value for his clients and social and cultural value for communities. His experience includes retail, mixed-use, gaming resorts, large-scale planning and urban regeneration projects.

David Moreno
David designs from his heart, creating places that emotionally engage the visitor. He has a deep respect for the varying, sometimes conflicting, perspectives of stakeholders on any project, and actively seeks a design vision that all can share. He knows that finding the "big idea" that resonates with the community will set the stage for success - for the client, the customers and the larger culture. In his 30 years of experience he has played a primary role in the design of many award-winning domestic and international projects. His sense of composition, his ability to solve complex problems and lead large design teams, and his understanding of functional issues has been the key to the success of many distinguished destinations across five continents.
